Im using the first word of my name which is 'WAN'

Option 1

This was the first design that came out from my head. I'm think of own and unique design and I think i can do it.

Option 2

I'm thinking that second option would be letter 'O' looks like balloon.

Option 3

The third option would be the last design that I did. Its hard to think new design but i try my best to produce one.

My outcome:

I would prefer the second option because its simple and relaxing. Now i know that we can use alphabet to design any kind of words. Its very cool for me

Typography

Lecture: Introduction to Typography

The first day of typography class, Mr. Vinod were explaining us about the assignment and helped us create a blog. Furthermore, Mr.Vinod also explaining the basic of typography and the history of typography. This subject is new to me and very interesting. Based on my point of view, typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and appealing when displayed. Moreover, the arrangement of type involves selecting typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing, letter-spacing, the design of letter, and adjusting the space within letters pairs.

Instructions:
Task 1 (5%): No 27.
Instructions: Your first task is to understand the written letter, its origins and evolution over time. You will complete viewing the following youtube video, understand, analyse and reflect on the knowledge in your ePortfolio under the reflection tittle. Please view the sample eportfolio to understand how to write your eportfolio (and reflection).
After viewing the video and other videos of your own finding (please document the other videos you watched in your eportfolio under the lecture title) design the 27th alphabet. You will present this new letter to the class and describe your thinking or reasoning for its introduction.

Please draw the final 27th letter on an A4 graph paper using black marker or ink. Ensure that the letter is centered within the A4 graph paper and does not exceed 7cm in height or width. Please document the entire process; research, explorations, trial and errors, thoughts and epiphanies in your eportfolio.
Marking criteria: You will be judged on your creativity: the rationale (in writing 250 words) behind the 27th letter and the argument for its consideration. The aesthetic appeal of the shape of the letter and the process work behind the outcomeIt’s visual and logical relevance when compared to the other 26 letters.

Base on my research:

The research that i did based on my opinion, any alphabet can combine with any symbols. The combination of alphabet and symbol can give an image of something that you achieved your goal. However, most of ancient alphabet are combination of letter and symbol. For example, alphabet 'A' combine with a symbol of an arrow:-

Step 1

The combination of all alphabet with an arrows symbol. Starting from A-Z letter. Every single line of the alphabet will combine with an arrow symbols.

Step 2

'A' is a first letter of the alphabet. Letter 'A' always been used as achievement and goal. For example,
when we score an 'A' for any exam, it shows an achievement and goal of the subject. Moreover, letter 'A' is number one of the alphabet. When someone achieve or won any competition, he or she will get number one.

Step 3

The letter 'A' combine with an arrow shows an achievement that we achieved in anything that we do.

Reflection:

Experience

Stress is the experience that I faced while doing this assessment. This is because I have to change so many times the design of alphabets and symbols. Furthermore, I tried to combine some letters with other symbols but I found that the letters were not the correct matches. However, I managed to overcome my stress by viewing the video that was suggested by Mr.Vinod. The video helped me a lot in terms of alphabet and make me feel that this subject is interesting.

Observation

As my observation for this subject, typography can really help me in business field. Especially in marketing side, this typography subject can help me to design any alphabet that can use for advertising of a product. The design of the alphabet will increase the buying power of a product.

Finding

Although, I'm not good in art. I will try my best to learn and improve it time by time. I will not going to give up easily for this subject. I will practice more and get a good grade in this subject. Lastly, I’m going to clear my doubts with Mr.Vinod and do it well for the next ePortfolio. Everything can be learned easily if we put in more effort.

Second Submission

Experiences

It’s not easy to think and to create new design. It’s also not easy for me to draw and understand what exactly that you want us to do. However, I try my best to design as far as I can to look more unique and interesting.

Observations

As my observation, this is my first time thinking and finding of an idea to create a letter in my own creativity. I find it not that easy and I’m not good in drawing. Although, I have some idea but it’s difficult for me to bring it out.

Findings

However, I manage to flow what you teach in the class through my classmate and by asking my classmate is helping me a lot. My classmate help me a lot with show me the right way to do the assignment since I was absent to the class. I must attend the other class without any reason so I can do well the assignment. I hope I can do more practice so I come up with a creative design.
